A word of warning----4 of these 7 selections are not basic SATB arrangements. They are
challenging arrangements, not to be sightread at a service. And two of those 4 are popular
religious songs (not from the hymnal), whose words are apropos to Easter. In a pinch,
the two challenging hymns could be played only the first chorus (repeated), which is a less
complicated chorus and in the same key as the hymnal. The other 3 selections are
basic SATB arrangements, sightreadable, and in the same key as the hymnal, thus
assuring that at least some of this music could be used at easter with minimal rehearsal.
Complete audio demos:
He Is Risen (180) Old Rugged Cross Day of Resurrection (210)
How Great Thou Art Easter Hymn (207) Crown Him With Many Crowns

21. Trombone 4tet Hymns and Spirituals
Eight great melodies, from the hymnal repertoire and beyond! Some are reharmonized and
made a bit virtuostic (for a great concert performance in church or elsewhere) and others
are more conservatively arranged, to be easily used in a church service. And there's a
couple fun ones with a beat! A great deal of this volume is not overly complicated, so that
it can be dependably performed in a respectful manner in church. But of course it also
would be great in a secular performance, since these are wonderful melodies. Audio clips:
